One Recharge, 25 OTT Platforms, Airtel Prepaid Plans With Netflix, JioHotstar

Airtel prepaid plans bundle Netflix, JioHotstar, Zee5 and 25+ OTT platforms at multiple price points. Most subscribers miss the claim step. Here is what each tier includes and how to activate.

Airtel prepaid recharge plans now include streaming subscriptions that most subscribers have never activated. The plans bundle access to JioHotstar, Netflix, Zee5, SonyLIV, and more than 20 other platforms depending on the plan tier. Airtel officially calls these All-in-One OTT Entertainment Packs, with a combined stated value of Rs. 750 per plan cycle.

The recharge that most users treat as a phone top-up is also an entertainment subscription. The problem is that claiming the streaming access requires a separate step inside the Airtel Xstream Play app. Most subscribers never take that step.

For Airtel prepaid recharges, Bajaj Pay, the Bharat Connect payments platform on Bajaj Finance, shows the exact plan amount before you confirm, through UPI, cards, or net banking.

Two Types of OTT Included in Every Plan

Airtel bundles OTT access in two distinct layers. Understanding the difference between them is what determines whether a subscriber actually gets the streaming benefit.

Layer 1: Airtel Xstream Play Premium. This is Airtel’s own streaming hub. It aggregates more than 25 platforms including SonyLIV, Lionsgate Play, AHA, Sun NXT, Hoichoi, Chaupal, and others under one app. Access to Xstream Play Premium is available on plans from Rs. 349 onward and can be used immediately through the Airtel Xstream Play app.

Layer 2: Individual OTT subscriptions. Netflix, JioHotstar, and Zee5 are included as separate subscription entitlements on specific plan tiers. These do not open automatically. Each must be claimed individually through the Claim and Watch section in the Xstream Play app.

Both layers are included in the plan price. Neither requires additional payment. But the individual subscriptions in Layer 2 expire unclaimed if the subscriber does not complete the claim step.

The Claim Step Most Subscribers Skip

When a subscriber recharges with an OTT-enabled plan, the Xstream Play Premium access becomes available immediately. The individual subscriptions – Netflix, JioHotstar, Zee5, do not.

Each individual subscription requires a manual claim through the following path:

  1. Open the Airtel Thanks app

  2. Go to Discover Thanks Benefit on the home screen

  3. Select the OTT platform to activate

  4. Tap Claim and follow the platform’s activation steps

A subscription that is not claimed within the plan’s validity period is lost. The next recharge starts a fresh entitlement cycle. Missed claims from the previous plan do not carry forward.

Subscribers who are currently paying a separate monthly fee for JioHotstar, Zee5, or Netflix Basic while on an Airtel plan that already includes these should check whether their plan tier covers the service. If it does, the separate subscription is a duplicate payment.

Check Your Current Plan’s OTT Benefits

To confirm which OTT services are included in the current active plan, open the Airtel Thanks app and look at the plan details on the home screen. The Thanks Benefit section lists all streaming entitlements, their claim status, and the date by which each must be claimed.

For subscribers considering a plan that offers better OTT coverage, current Airtel recharge plans across all validity tiers and OTT configurations are available to compare before recharging.

Recharge Your Airtel Plan on Bajaj Finance

Recharging before the current plan expires ensures continuous OTT access and resets the claim window for the next cycle.

Steps to complete your Airtel prepaid recharge:

  1. Open the Bajaj Finance app or visit bajajfinserv.in and log in

  2. Go to Bills and Recharges and select Mobile Recharge

  3. Select Airtel and enter your mobile number

  4. Browse available plans and select the OTT-enabled option that suits your needs

  5. Confirm the recharge amount before completing payment

  6. Complete the transaction for instant confirmation

Airtel’s prepaid plans bundle OTT access at every major price point from Rs. 349 onward. The access covers both the Xstream Play Premium aggregator and individual subscriptions including JioHotstar, Netflix, and Zee5 at higher tiers. The one step that converts a recharge into a working streaming subscription is the claim inside the Xstream Play app. Subscribers who skip this step pay for access they never use. Those paying separately for a streaming service already in their plan are paying twice.
