Police Register FIR and Launch Investigation
Jamui SP Bishwajeet Dayal said police identified the two teenagers after examining the viral footage.
Reports said investigators used details visible in the video, including a vehicle registration number, to help locate them.
Police recorded their statements and registered a FIR. The case includes provisions under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, or POCSO, along with relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Arrests in the Jamui Case
Police initially announced three arrests on September 21.
Investigators reportedly identified around seven people from the footage. A Special Investigation Team was formed under Jamui SDPO Deepti Monali to investigate the case and locate other suspects.
By September 22, News On AIR reported that five people had been arrested.

NCW Takes Notice
The National Commission for Women also took suo motu cognisance of the incident.
NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar wrote to the Bihar Director General of Police seeking details about the investigation and action against those responsible.
